Inexpensive Decorating Ideas

Event decor need not be expensive to be beautiful.  All it takes is a little innovation and the right event planning team (ahem, Chez Soiree).  :)  Anyway, there are three things that can add a little pizzazz and spice to your event without spending a great deal-- candles, balloons (yes, balloons), and paper lanterns.  Candles are a great way to set the perfect ambiance for your event. Candleholders can be purchased inexpensively from places like Dollar General and Dollar Tree.

Balloons, once simply seen as kiddie decor, has recently seen a reprisal as a new, fun trend for weddings, and other adult events. Balloons are also a great way to fill up space. The balloons used in the pic below are the new 36 inch balloons.

Martha Stewart, the all-knowing guru of all things domestic/events/decor, introduced the world to these adorable tissue poms/lanterns.  They're made of the tissue paper used to wrap gifts.  You can make them yourself (stay tuned for the tutorial) or you can purchase the pom kits from Martha Stewart herself, or from my favorite place, Etsy.

Until next time, happy planning!
